Last May, Embracer announced through an official press release that it had acquired most of Square Enix's western studios (including Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal), but also historical licenses such as TOMB RAIDER, Thief, Legacy of Kain, or Deus Ex. In his next quarterly report, the new owner indicated that this acquisition had generated more than positive reactions, and that among the series recovered, he detected enormous potential in terms of remakes, remasters, spin-offs, and even transmedia projects.
We must believe that these were not empty words since Crystal Dynamics has posted a survey with which it seeks to know whether or not players would eventually be interested in a return of the Legacy of Kain series. He asks them in particular if they are familiar with the franchise, if they liked the episodes they played, what their favorite characters are, if the announcement of a new Legacy of Kain would make them happy (remake, remaster, reboot , sequel), or what kind of game they would like (exclusively single-player, co-op, PvP, Action-RPG, Adventure, Horror, Metroidvania, etc.). In short, Crystal Dynamics casts a wide net and wants to have a precise idea of the wishes of the fans before considering, perhaps, things a little more seriously.
