CD Projekt Red had given us an appointment at the end of the afternoon for its special Night City Wire, to discuss the future of Cyberpunk 2077, and the Polish studio did not let up. Almost two years since the game was released, and the developers are working hard to fix all the mistakes made after the chaotic launch that we all experienced at the end of 2020. If there is still finishing and maintenance work to be done do, the bulk of the work has been done and it is therefore time to talk about the future. The latter is called Phantom Liberty, and it is the biggest expansion that will offer hours of additional play. It was a certain Gabe Amatangelo, who cut his teeth at Electronic Arts and BioWare, who was in charge of leading the project, and it was he who made the presentations this evening. We have therefore learned that a new area of Night City will be added to the open world that we already know, that new characters will appear. Their identity is still a mystery, but on the other hand, it has been confirmed that Johnny Silverhand will be making a comeback as Johnny Silverhand. Keanu Reeves also made an appearance during the show to give interest to this announcement.
The release of the "Phantom Liberty" DLC is expected for 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and even Stadia. Note the absence of the PS4 and Xbox One versions, which is quite logical after the drama two years ago...
