The Capcom Showcase which has just ended was an opportunity to get to know the Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village. First of all, the latter will make it possible to (re)make the main campaign in the third person, a mode clearly demanded by the community. Suddenly, the developers have integrated a whole bunch of new animations compared to the subjective view, just to encourage the followers of the first hour to finish the game once again. Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition will also have a mode "Mercenaries" more substantial, including the arrival of Chris Redfield, Lady Dimitrescu and Karl Heisenberg, and the addition of new levels.
Finally, an extension devoted to Rose - the daughter of Ethan and Mia Winters - will also be included. Called "The Shadows of Rose", it will take place after the events of the main adventure. Consumed by the powers she inherited, she decides to enter the consciousness of the Megamycete. She will then enter an unknown dimension where she will meet a girl who looks strangely like her. She will be guided by a certain Michael who is able to help her get rid of her powers. Note that the DLC will be played in the third person, and that in addition to the creatures, Rose will also have to be wary of the world around her, the latter being able to become her greatest enemy.
The release of Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition is set for October 28 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Stadia and PC. Naturally, each of the components described above will be available separately from the same date via the "Winters Extension" pack. One last thing: let's not forget that Resident Evil Village will soon be compatible with PlayStation VR 2.
