With the recent release of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7, we discovered a new in-game resource: Nuts and Bolts. These replacements for Season 6 mechanical parts can be used to classify weapons to different types through the crafting menu. All it takes is a single set of nuts and bolts to sort your guns into their preferred type, making this a highly sought-after product. after the resource. The question is: how do we get them?
There are several ways to get Nuts and Bolts in a game. The most common way to find them is through drops from other players, but this guide explains how to get them when you're actively looking for them.
The easiest way to guarantee you find some is to visit Rick Sanchez at the Defiant Dish. He is usually found wandering around the top floor of the central building at the base. When you interact with Rick, he will offer to sell you nuts and bolts for 25 gold bars each. Considering they can be used to craft your weapons into a form you're more comfortable using, that's a pretty good deal.
Another way to get nuts and bolts is by opening red toolboxes as shown in the image above. Red toolboxes are guaranteed to drop a set of nuts and bolts, so if you see one, open it. Unfortunately, there is currently no map that shows all spawn locations for these toolboxes. However, you will frequently (almost always) find them in home garages.
Finally, Nuts and Bolts can be found as Floor Loot, Chest, and Ammo Box. This isn't an efficient way to find them though, as their spawn rate from these sources is much rarer.
