Le 5 September de TFT brings a lot of item level changes, with in particular the introduction of shadow objects, which have a different effect than the normal item. To craft these, you will need Shadow Components, which can notably be obtained through theArmory.
The Armory is a new mechanic, which takes place three times during the game and during which you can choose a component among the 2 to 4 that the game offers you.

What is the Armory in TFT Set 5?
The Armory allows you to choose a component from those offered by the game. You can only getonly one each time. It takes place at three points in the game:
- During Round 2-2, where you have 2 components to choose from, 1 of which is always shadow and the other normal
- During Round 3-2, where you have 2 components to choose from, but both are always normal
- During Round 4-2, where you have 4 components to choose from, of which 2 are normal and 2 are shadow

The Armory does not increase the total number of components you can have in a game (between 12 and 14 in general), and is not counted among those you receive during PVE. What's more, the Armory and the Carousel are the only ways to get shadow components, which cannot appear during PVE rounds.
This new mechanic gives more flexibility to players who can choose more of their components to suit their needs and composition.
