If you're tired of waiting for Halloween to get your fix of spooky stuff in Fortnite, then we're taking a look at a big stack of cards that will send chills crawling down your spine! Our Horror Codes article focuses on maps you can play solo or with friends that embrace a spooky atmosphere that will hopefully put you on the edge of your seat. None of this is too scary, so don't worry about having nightmares. However, some of them may scare you, so only play them if you are ready!
How to use creative code
Once you load the game you will have three options on what you want to play (Save the World, Battle Royale and Creative). Click the create option, then PLAY, then CREATE (don't start a server if you want to play solo).
Once loaded, you will see an Orange Rift that will take you to islands where you can create custom maps. We don't want that right now, so look for featured portals. Fortnite now puts you in a custom portal area, so you might have to search for it a bit. Find the portals with the console in front of them and interact with one of them.
From here you can either select one of the codes you've bookmarked or paste a code you have at the end of the URL. Click "Accept" and it will load the island of your choice. You can then run into the rift and it will transport you there!

Best Horror Codes
Here's our list of the best horror codes in Fortnite:
I'll go into more detail below on each of these cards and include some videos that should explain more about the course if needed!
Halloween story
This is a great little themed map that has you exploring a seemingly haunted area for pumpkin tokens. Each level has a certain amount you need to search for so you use your torch and flashlight to find them, but beware of the scary things lurking around the corners! There are monsters to avoid and you'll need to bring some parkour skill if you're looking to complete this, as some of the tokens are hard to get! If you're struggling with this map, watch the video below which will help you get to the end!
Quiet place
You can play this one with friends or by yourself! It tempted you to save the quiet place from an evil spirit. To do this, you will have to go to the rooms and find accessories that only appear in the room once. Every time you make an incorrect guess, you will take damage! If you reach 0 shield, you lose the game! Once you find the item, offer it to the spirit to move on to the next room. Complete each room to save the quiet neighborhood from the villain.
Evil Awaits Lucy
You were hoping for the chance to keep Lucy and you finally got your chance! Well, maybe that's not so great because some spooky happenings start happening once you go into labor. Dive into this single-player story that becomes quite a chilling mystery by the end. This one has a few jumps so be prepared for those or turn off the lights and make sure you have headphones to get the full experience! It looks like there are plans for more parts to this one, so you can expect more maps based on this story in the future.
The scarecrow series
Immerse yourself in the story of the Scarecrow series that will take you through three chapters of spooky levels that have a constantly spooky atmosphere and tell the story of one person's journey trying to escape the evil scarecrow! These maps can be legitimately scary when you have your helmet on and the lights off due to the dark rooms you're in. Watch out for jumps and loud noises!

The Story of Oliver Whitlock
This one isn't super scary but it does create quite a tense atmosphere that will make you quite nervous. There is a bit of a scare, but I would say it's more of a thriller than anything horror. However, it is so remarkable to me that I thought I would include it in this list. For one thing, it's well-written, which I found quite rare on these cards. It has a really good story, and it challenges you to figure things out! So while I think you should try to avoid this as much as possible, I've included a video with a walkthrough below if you get stuck!
