The composition Atomizer / Brawler / Chrononaut of Teamfight Tactics is based on the physical damage in zone of the Atomizers, in particular Jinx, coupled with the tankiness of the Brawlers in order to offer a very balanced and effective team.

The Atomizer / Brawler / Chrononaut composition
The carry of this composition is Jinx, which deals heavy damage once she gets one or two kills in a round. She is assisted by Brawlers which are extremely tanky and offer zone controls, but also the other atomizers. Although the version 4 Atomizers is the easiest to play at level 8, it is much more recommended to seek better units at the end of the game so as not to run out of steam, in particular Aurelion Sol.
When to Play This Comp and Victory Conditions
This composition is rather dependent on certain particular objects, which means that we do not recommend it in situations. You can consider it if:
- You have enough to make objects for Jinx (curved arch, Training gloves, BF Sword...) after the PVE round in 2-7.
- You are not no more than two players starting on it : you will usually know that an opponent is playing this composition if he takes Brawlers and does the items named above.
This composition is above all a fairly stable combination which generally allows you to reach the top 4 or even the top 3. If you want to win the game, you will need luck:
- Le 9 level, to have legendary units (Gangplank, Thresh, Janna, Aurelion Sol...) levels 2.
- Jinx level 3 : if it is difficult to get it, it is an alternative victory condition if you are the only one playing this comp.
Preferred items
Jinx |
||||
Infinity blade |
Last breath |
Ultra-fast cannon |
||
+ | + | + | ||
The objects of Jinx will often be the most important since they will allow you to more easily succeed in your mid-game transition. This one benefits from the same objects as in a composition Atomizer, while remaining flexible: the combination of Infinity blade et Last breath is very powerful for killing the opponent's frontline, but other offensive items will also do the trick, such as the red buff, the giant slayer or the duet of Ouragan de Runaan et Doom Blade.
As a third object, it may be interesting to have a defensive object: Ultra-fast cannon is defensive despite his stats since he prevents Jinx to have to move forward to hit the opposing targets, while Gripper trap will be very strong against different opposing carries (Viktor, irelia...). Finally, Guardian angel also works, especially against Infiltrators. |
|
||||
Ion Spark |
frozen heart |
Shroud of Calming |
||
+ | + | + | ||
Gnar will be your main tank, and it is generally very interesting to equip him with defensive objects so that he saves a lot of time to Jinx. a Shroud of Calming is very powerful if you regularly monitor the positioning of your opponents to hit as many champions as possible, while a frozen heart is also ideal on Gnar since it usually jumps towards the opposing backline. Finally, Ion Spark is very powerful to boost your magic damage.
He can use other defensive items, like the combination d'Warmog Armor et bramble armor which makes it very tanky. Otherwise, a dragon claw will be very powerful against magic damage. |
|
||||||
Rabadon's Headdress |
morellonomicon |
Echo of Luden |
||||
+ | + | + | ||||
Aurelion Sol will usually be your secondary carry, and works great with different power items like Rabadon's Cap and/or Luden's Echo. A Hextech Gunblade can also make it quite tough. While the Morellonomicon seems like a great choice, it's less necessary if you already have a red buff for anti-heal. Alternatively, A.Sol can also use more defensive items, like bramble armor et dragon claw, and it can also be very loud with a Protector's Breastplate and Warmog Armor if you add Urgot for example. |
Spatula and other objects
If you get a Spatula, you can change one of your champions (usually Ezreal) On Rebelle with Rebel Medal ( + ) for an added bonus. It will give a small interesting damage boost to your Jinx.
Another interesting option is to give a Zephyr à Blitzcrank. Many players will tend to protect themselves from Blitzcrank by putting an unimportant unit in the corner, and the carry next to it. With this technique, the Zephyr should hit the unimportant unit to get the carry with the grappling hook.
Course of the game
Since this composition is particularly strong in mid game, it is recommended level up very aggressively in order to maintain a winning streak and take advantage of this additional gold contribution so as not to run out of steam too much at the end of the game. It is however possible to play a more standard strategy of " Fast 8 in order to play on legendary units.

Early game (levels 3-4-5)
In the early game, one of the most effective variations you can use is Lucian with cyborgs (Leona, Fiora). He can then carry the objects of Jinx (giant slayer, red buff, Lame d'infin) which will make it very powerful throughout the middle game. Feel free to keep other copies of Lucian aside for when you need to sell it to outfit your Jinx.
Au 4 level, add Graves ou Kog'Maw for the bonus Atomizer. If you already have them, consider pass level 4 en round 2-1 ou 2-2 to start a winning streak. Subsequently, you will again want buy 4 XP in 2-3 for pre-level. You should go from 4/10 to 8/10 XP, allowing you to pass level 5 at the start of the next round, and thus to have access to a shop which increases your chances of having units at 2 and 3 Range.
Au 5 level, you can start entering Brawlers. One of the best combinations will be to replace Fiora by Vi, to add Blitzcrank and change Graves for Ezreal in order to benefit from the bonus Chrononaute. However, keep it aside, you will need it later. One more time, Lucian in transition carry should allow you to go on a winning streak without too much trouble.
Another option is to play Kog'Maw as a transitional carry, this one carrying the objects of Jinx instead of Lucian. In that case, try playing 4 Prototypes (Illaoi, nocturne et Cassiopeia) + 1 Atomizer for example to maximize its effectiveness.
Midgame (levels 6/7)
If you are in winning streak, you should pass level 6 in round 3-2 to continue to be powerful. At this point you should roll a little (avoiding going below 30 or 20 gold) to try to have a combination of 4 Brawlers + 2 Atomizers. This should allow your Lucian ou Kog'Maw carry not to run out of steam.
If you're not on a winning streak, or don't need to roll, keep saving to get to level 8 sooner.
Usually you will spend level 7 in round 4-1. You can then decide between roll again To unlock Jinx level 2 and your other upgrades, or go get level 8. If it's tempting to play 4 Atomizers, it will usually be more useful to have 4 Brawlers + 2 Atomizers, while selling Lucian to give the items to Jinx. It can also be interesting to play 4 Chrononauts with Shen et Wukong instead of malphite et Lucian for example.
Endgame (level 8+)
You should then rebuild your economy so that you can pass level 8, often in round 5-1. At this point, you should roll to get all your level 2 champions. It's also possible that you don't need to roll, so you can save.
Either you can go up to 50 gold et slow roll to find your upgrades or even champions levels 3 (ViOr Jinx...), or you can pass 9 level and add additional synergies and increase your chances of getting legendary champions tier 2. This second choice will often be the most interesting.
Indeed, at the end of the game it will often be interesting to adapt your last units according to the different combinations of legendary champions at your disposal and your needs in the game. If you're dealing with a lot of magic damage for example, add Lulu and another Mystique. If you get your hands on Gangplank, you can play it with ziggs. Janna will be effective against Initiators by converting your physical damage. Finally, Thresh will often be a safe bet, especially if you have other interesting units on the bench: Janna, Lulu, Urgot, Soraka...
Different possible transitions
Like any composition, there are several variants to the one we have proposed to you.
ziggs |
malphite |
Blitzcrank |
Vi |
Ezreal |
Jinx |
Gnar |
|
Perhaps the most interesting late-game version is the one that involves playing Gangplank et ziggs, to have the features Rebels et Demolitionist. In this case you will want to have carry items for GP (Guardian angel, Rabadon's Headdress, Ion Spark), which will allow him to be particularly dangerous once he reaches level 2 and with improvements to his ultimate. You will always want to play Aurelion Sol at level 9. |
malphite |
Blitzcrank |
Vi |
Ezreal |
Jinx |
Gnar |
|
Lulu |
a.sun |
|||||||
As said above, it will be very common to play 2 Mystics at the end of the game if you face magic damage. It may be interesting to give a Lance de Shojin à Lulu in this situation, so that she regularly benefits from her area control. |
ziggs |
Yasuo |
Zed |
Master Yi |
Ezreal |
Jinx |
a.sun |
Gangplank |
|
One of the other most powerful transitions, especially if you have Fast 8, is to play 6 Rebels at the end of the game. This version allows you to play two extremely powerful legendaries: Gangplank (with the objects cited above), and Aurelion Sol. It will be much more powerful than 4 Atomizers / 4 Brawlers at the end of the game, and will often allow you to top 1 if you have your legendaries improved.

Positioning Tips
Your priority with your positioning is to protect jinx enemy fire, in particular Infiltrators. To do so, check your opponents regularly to see where they are. This pyramid positioning is interesting to protect your Jinx, since opponents may target the units around her before her.
Logically, you will always want your 3 Rebels in triangle so that they buff each other, and Blitzcrank near Jinx so that she gets her first elimination easily. If you play Janna, try to position it near your other units so that she boosts everyone with her tornadoes. If you play Thresh instead, position it so it doesn't die before you cast.
A final important point to pay attention to is the positioning of Gnar with Shroud of Calming which should target champions who need their ultimate the most, and Vi. The latter targets the furthest opponent with his ultimate, so watch your enemies for her to control a carry if possible.
