Champions who will no longer be present on TFT in 10.12
Nine champions will no longer be playable starting in patch 10.12, with two origins also going away.
néant
Kha'Zix, Cho'Gath et Vel'Koz disappear at the same time as the Void trait, so it will now be impossible to ignore enemy resistances.
Valkyrie
Kai'Sa, Kayle et Miss Fortune will also no longer be available, which will no doubt leave a big void since the three were widely used as main carries in different compositions.
The other champions
Sona, Kassadine et Luxury also bid farewell. Sona was deemed problematic by Riot for its ability to heal and remove stuns, while Kassadin and Lux must leave to make way for many new Tier 3s.
New champions with existing traits
Three new champions are arriving with existing classes and origins:
Origin | Class | Cost | Black | |
Zed |
Rebelle |
Infiltrator | 2 PO |
Scorn of the weak (passive) Every 3 attacks, Zed deals 20/40/80 bonus magic damage and steals 25/40/80% of his target's current attack damage. |
Vayne |
Cyborg |
Sniper | 3 PO |
Ultimate fight Vayne concentrates for 10 seconds, rolling away from her target immediately and then after every 3 attacks. Vayne is invisible while rolling, and her first attack after each roll deals 180/200/240% of her attack damage. |
Riven |
Chrononaute |
Master of Blades | 4 PO |
Energy Slash Riven lunges forward and gets a shield from |
Zed will serve as a replacement for Sona in the Rebel compositions to get the 6 quickly, while having a particular anti-carry role with her Infiltrator class and her spell.
Vayne will allow her to reach the 6 Cyborgs without having to depend on Ekko, and will be particularly difficult to kill given her ability to lose aggro by becoming invisible.
Last but not least, Riven will be a potential late-game carry that benefits very well from magic power despite being a Master of Blades.
The new champions of new origins and class
Two new origins and a new class arrive in this Set 3, with 11 more champions:
Origin Prototype (2/4/6)
After taking or dealing damage 10 times, Prototype Champions gain a bonus based on their current HP. If they have lost less than 50% of their HP, they inflict 75/150/225 magic damage to the nearest enemy. If they have lost more than 50% of their HP, they heal themselves for 75/150/225 HP.
Class | Cost | Black | |
Illaoi |
brawler | 1 PO |
Tentacle Smash Illaoi sends a tentacle in a straight line in front of her, dealing 125/200/325 damage to enemies hit and stealing 15/25/40% of their Armor and Magic Resist each for 4 seconds. |
nocturne | Infiltrator | 1 PO |
Unspeakable horror Nocturne terrifies his target, stunning them for 2/2,5/4 seconds and dealing 200/250/400 damage for the duration or until Nocturne dies. |
Kog'Maw | Atomizer | 2 PO |
Barrage For 3 seconds, Kog'Maw gains infinite range, 90% attack speed, and his attacks deal 5/7/9% of the target's max health as magic damage. |
Cassists | Mystique | 3 PO |
Noxious blast Cassiopeia hurls her fangs at the nearest enemy that is not already poisoned, dealing 1000/1500/3000 damage over 12 seconds and reducing shield effectiveness by 50%. |
Viktor |
Wizard | 4 PO |
Death ray Viktor burns the path between the two enemies that are farthest from each other, initially dealing 25/40/100% of the targets hit's max HP, then 1 second after dealing 250/400/1000 damage in an explosion on the same path. |
Urgot |
Protective | 5 PO |
Fear beyond death Urgot targets the farthest enemy in his range of attack, bringing him back to him by repeatedly inflicting 2000 pure damage until he dies by reaching him, reducing the mana cost of his spell by 10. / 20/60. |
The prototypes are able to heal themselves or inflict heavy damage when the fight lasts, making them potentially tireless champions at the end of the fight. It is a rather flexible origin since it only requires 2 units to be activated, and can therefore find its place in many compositions.
Astronaut Origin (3)
Mana cost of Astronaut champions reduced by 30.
Class | Cost | Black | |
Nautilus |
Initiator | 2 PO |
Impact crater Nautilus propels his target into the air, stunning them for 3/3,5/4 seconds and dealing 100/200/400 damage. Enemies adjacent to the target are also stunned for half the duration and take half damage. |
Bard |
Mystique | 3 PO |
Traveler's Call Bard throws a meep that can be sold for one experience point on your bench. Passively, Bard's basic attacks generate 5/20/90 additional mana. |
Gnar |
brawler | 4 PO |
GNAR! Gnar leaps towards his target and transforms into Mega Gnar, knocking nearby enemies, dealing 200/300/1500 damage and stunning them for 2 seconds. In Mega Gnar form, he gains 750/1250/2500 HP and 100/175/400 damage. |
Teemo |
Sniper | 4 PO |
Satellite traps Teemo sows three traps around the nearest enemy. When an enemy is too close to a trap or after 3 seconds, they explode, dealing 175/250/600 damage and knocking the target back, applying a heavy slow for 4 seconds. |
The reduction in the mana cost of spells Astronauts allows them to use them very regularly, which can be effective with the rather unique effects of the various champions (notably Bard and Teemo).
Paragon (1)
Your team's basic attacks turn into magic damage.
Class | Cost | Black | |
Janna |
Guardian of the stars | 5 PO |
Howling gale Janna summons 5 tornadoes that fly off in a cone shape. Tornadoes grant +50/100/500% attack speed to allies passed through, and knock opponents hit into the air, stunning them for 1,5 seconds. |
Janna is a great addition to your comp if you're dealing with a lot of armor (from Initiators for example) with Paragon, although on the contrary it is very weak against opposing Mystics.
This article will be updated when we have more details on the different spells of the new champions.
