TFT: Pirates Composition Guide with Pyke

Our articles on TFT Tactical Combat: Pirates Comp Guide with Pyke Pyke has recently become one of the most popular champions in TFT, which makes the Pirates comp a bit more viable. We explain this to you in detail.

You must have realized this if you've ever tried to play them: Pirates are not exceptional on Teamfight Tactics. Their bonus, which gives up to 4 additional gold at the end of the fights, can be used to have a solid economy in the middle of the game, but you will generally be quickly overwhelmed by your opponents. Fear not, Pyke is here to save this comp with a few items that make him absolutely destructive.

The composition

Gunslinger (4) : After each attack, gunslingers have a 50% chance to launch an additional attack on all opponents within range.

Pirate (3) : Gain up to 4 gold after each fight against another player.

This composition works relatively well at the start of the game, thanks to the Gunslinger which gives decent DPS. You can donate items to GravesAs red buff and Titanic Hydra, but it is mostly around Pyke that this build will run. Thanks to his ultimate which makes him move towards the furthest opponent and which stuns everyone in his path, he is going to be extremely powerful with some objects.

At the end of the game, it is recommended to start in a new direction, such as Blademaster (especially Draven) to combine with Gangplank, or nobles for example to go with Lucian. It is also possible to stay on Pyke by leaving on Assassins.

Essential items

It's the double Lance de Shojin which really allows Pyke to shine. When he has these two objects, a single auto attack is enough to give him enough mana for ultimate. Thanks to this combination, he will spend his time going through the opposing team, stunning everyone in his path.

Advantages

→ An inexpensive composition that is easy to build at the start of the game.

→ A good economy in the middle of the game thanks to the gold of the Pirates.

→ A fairly flexible build, where it is possible to give items to Tristana or Graves, and to follow up on various options.

The inconvenients

→ A composition that runs out of steam at the end of the game and must imperatively be replaced.

→ Doesn't actually work until Pyke has his items and is level 2.

→ No real tank in this composition, which is therefore very vulnerable to enemy burst.
