How to use the TFT comp tier list
Each composition presents the champions as well as optimal objects for the most important of them. It also presents the possible replacements which may be of interest. Comps generally need to be tailored to the lobby you're playing in, especially with the addition of Hextech Augments. Keep in mind that some compositions have very different rankings depending on what you have in your game, but our tier list is mainly there to show the main lines.

The list is current at 1er February 2022 (patch 12.2).
Comp Tier S |
These compositions are the most regular, those that do not depend on too specific conditions or Hextech Augmentations to be solid and get at least a top 4, while having the possibility of getting a top 1 in the right conditions. | |||
As with each Set, there are different versions of compositions Assassin. In Set 6, it will most often be shaco which will be used in main carry with physical damage items. It can then be played with 5 Pègres (Syndicate) or with 6 Assassins depending on what you find and your Hextech Augments, and you should try to pass it 3 stars if possible. Akali can act as a secondary carry.
If you are looking for a stable and complete composition, Jhin is an excellent choice. He has very good physical area damage, being able to go after the opposing backline, and only requires a few specific units around him to function. As a result, you can easily pair it with loads of frontline and utility champions, like Brew, Orianna et Sion, which offer a lot of control to this composition. You can also play Miss Fortune 3 stars in secondary carry.
Since its range buff in patch 12.1, Heimerdinger is much more reliable. You usually want slow roll at level 7 or 8 to pass it 3 stars. He remains dependent on a blue Buff to cast his spell very regularly, but the rest of the composition is very flexible: depending on your hextech increases, you can play him with 7 Innovators, with 4 Scholars (Scholar)...
With an exit Innovator, which usually allows you to be pretty strong in the early/midgame, you can go for it at level 8, especially if you have a Heart or a Emblem to play the 7. Jayce can be a great late game carry in remote form to inflict physical damage, or body to body form with defensive objects. Orianna ou seraphine can be interesting secondary carries, especially the last one which offers a lot of healing and will allow you to win fights over time. At the end of the game, if you are unable to play 7 Innovators, you can just add frontline with champions like Blitzcrank, Brew, Sion...
With a start Mercenary, or simply Techno-chemists, you can often head for a composition Urgot without the slightest difficulty, as long as you have physical damage objects. The latter is a very competent physical DPS, while Dr. World ou Soot Kench can become very difficult to kill and that Jinx can act as a secondary carry late in the game.
Comp Tier A |
Tier A comps are less regular than Tier S comps, often depending on specific conditions to work (such as a good start, perfect items, or specific Hextech Augments). However, they can be just as powerful, or even more so under the right conditions. |
With many consecutive buffs on champions like Sion et Orianna, as well as on the Chalice of Power, this new composition has emerged in recent weeks. She enjoys the duet Orianna et seraphine who both benefit very well from the magical power offered by the Chalice. Sion can be a great frontline, but you can also play a Soot Kench as an off-tank if you find him quickly. Similarly, if you tend to open with a start Innovator, you can gradually replace them with more powerful champions in the late game.
Luxury is the most reliable magic DPS in Set 6, with excellent instant magic damage and the ability to cast his spell very regularly. It is usually played with 6 Arcanistes et Vex in the main tank. For the latter, it is wise to slow roll at level 8 to find it in 3 stars and prioritize his defensive items over Lux's.
In composition Arcanist, you can also play the reroll version. Then you want slow roll at level 7 for champions like Swain, Vex et Lulu 3 stars. Swain in particular is very dangerous since its patch 12.1 buffs. This version is even more powerful with a Arcanist Emblem, which can go to Lulu and can allow you to play 4 while returning your champions Imperial. |
If you find a lot of copies of Thread and Kassadine at the start of the game, or with the correct version of the trait Mutant (ideally execution or extra attacks), you can play this composition. Kassadine is usually your main tank, while you can easily play Kog'Maw in main carry to deal damage behind. You have to slow roll at level 5 to have your champions at 1 range in 3 stars, then go up to level 6 and roll a little more for Kog'Maw if you are missing a few copies.
Samira is capable of inflicting excellent single-target or area-of-effect physical damage (depending on where you position it), and is therefore worth considering if you find a lot of them in the mid-game. You should slow roll at level 7 to see her 3 stars and Heel which can be your secondary carry. Don't forget to make Iron Solari medallions to improve your frontline.
Heel can be played as main carry with the right items and a slow roll strategy at level 6. Interesting to play Swain in secondary carry, especially if you can put an Assassin Emblem on him. think about playing Samira time to find Sion at level 7. |
I ne can be played as main carry. After the line nerve Student (Academy), it is usually best played in 6 or 8 Challengers. You can then call Fiora ou Kai'Sa in secondary carries. Don't forget that the Iron Solari Medallion is also a great item in Challenger comps that often lack a frontline.
After many buffs, Fiora eventually became a competent carry. If it can be played with 6 challengers, the preferred version is rather to play it with 3 Stars (Socialite), especially if the box is in the first, second or third line. She then offers a lot of damage over time, while the rest of the comp has a lot of control to buy her time. Kai'Sa can be an interesting secondary carry in this comp.
There are several ways to play the composition Yordle. The most obvious is to play the 6 Yordles and try to pass them all 3 stars to then unlock Weighs at the end of the game. But the most consistent version is to only play Tristana, Lulu et poppy 3 stars. You can also play all 6 if you are uncontested and have good Hextech Augments, in which case you should play instead Heimerdinger et Vex and carrys.
With many copies of Twitch at the start of the game, interesting components and / or Hextech Augments that help you roll, you can consider this version of composition Assassin. You should then slow roll at level 5 to get Twitch et singed 3 stars, and then play a mix of Techno-chemists (Chemtech), Assassin and Scholar (Scholar).
Malzahar in main carry can be very powerful depending on the trait Mutant in your part. If the mutation is Synaptic Web, which reduces mana costs, it is very very dangerous, but it can also work with Voidborn for pure execution and damage, or with Voracious Appetite for potency and damage. In this composition, you want slow roll at level 7 or 8 to have your carrys in 3 stars, but beware of appearances: your main champion remains Cho'Gath, and its items should be your priority.
If you find many copies of Vi and Trundle, you can play these two champions in main carries. Vi is more to play as a mage, capable of dealing huge bursts of magic damage, while Trundle is a physical DPS that hits harder and harder as he steals damage from his targets. You should slow roll at level 6 to pass them 3 stars, then try to level up to get Jinx at level 8 in order to give the bonus Sister. Note that you can also play this composition with of Fighters (Bruiser) if you have certain specific increases.
One of the most powerful strategies right now is to play your best board up to level 8, then go in 3 Stars (Socialite) with Kai'Sa, Viktor ou Akali in main carry in the box. These three champions all benefit very well from theGuardian angel and Archangel Staff, and you can play the first one you find. You usually want to use Sion ou Gallium in tanks. The latter can also be played in Clapping with a Infinity blade if you have the objects, if the square is in frontline or if you have Duet or Share the Spotlight to have several squares.
Compos Tier B |
These comps can be very strong but are only to be considered when you have suitable Hextech Augments, and generally a suitable early game. They will often find it more difficult to get a top 1. |
With many copies of Zyra very early in the game, you can consider making it your main carry by passing it 3 stars with a strategy of slow roll at level 6, then continue to roll a bit at 7 level for the latest Zyra and for Lisandra if you have a lot. At the end of the game, you can add a Viktor in secondary carry, or simply add seraphine, especially if the box is interesting for Zyra or for Lissandra. |
With a start Junkman (Scrap), you can probably come back from a bad early game as the trait gets more and more powerful as you unlock items. This composition counts a lot of utility, while Jinx acts as the main carry at the end of the game. Your frontline can be secured by champions like Brew, Jayce ou Soot Kench, the latter giving you additional items to boost Junkyard.
With a start Techno-chemist (Chemtech) / Fighter (Bruiser), if you have the opportunity to go for it 8 level, you can play Viktor in main carry. This one works particularly well with magic power and mana generation items, and it may be relevant to play Scholars (Scholar) for mana generation. You can easily play Zyra time to find Viktor. |
Kai'Sa can be an amazing late game carry provided she has one of the good versions of the trait Mutant : Voidborne for execution and pure damage or else Voracious Appetite for damage and potency when an ally dies. With the other mutations, this composition is viable but less powerful, even very weak with some of the less interesting ones.
With its excellent base stats, CC immunity, and area crit, Gallium is surprisingly a relevant late game DPS with physical damage items. In particular, it allows you to play 3 Stars (Socialite), giving him bonus damage, mana generation, and regeneration. Sion can be played as a tank in this composition, the latter benefiting a lot from defensive objects since its revamp in 11.23B. |
Katarina can be a great main carry in a lineup 2 Students (Academy) et 6 Assassins. It is particularly powerful with a Protector Emblem. You can also play champions like Echo ou Heel in secondary carry if you get them quickly with good items. In either case, you want slow roll at level 6 to try to pass them 3 stars.
Warwick can be a very powerful carry, capable of inflicting excellent mixed damage and above all of surviving for a very long time by becoming more and more powerful. It is especially recommended to play this composition with Hextech Augments as Featherweights or those who help you slow roll at level 6 (High Roller, Trade Sector, Golden ticket...) to get Warwick and why not Lisandra, Zac et Quinn 3 stars.
With many champions Underworld (Syndicate) at the start of the game and why not a Hextech Augmentation who improves them or who helps you to roll, you can slow roll at level 5 to play Twisted fate, poppy et Darius 3 stars. The former then acts as magic DPS, while Darius can become a nearly unkillable tank with the right items until the very end of the game. You can then choose to play 2 Arcanistes, 4 Bodyguards (Bodyguard) or 5 Lazy depending on your Hextech Augments and your needs in the game. |
When you have a start with 3 Mercenaries (or with a Hextech Augmentation which gives you an extra one), you have two options: you can either just play them until you win a round, then pivot to another comp, or play Gangplank carry, which can be very powerful and give you a lot of gold. This second option is much better if you can play 5 Mercenaries and be on a winning streak. You should then go to 8 level (even 9) to also play Soot Kench, which can give you even more rewards with magic power.
