The best early game combinations on Set 3

In Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies, you will have much less gold at the start of the game, which will make it harder to get level 2 champions. As a result, you'll need to choose the units you buy carefully and rely on good early and mid-game synergies to do well.

An example of an excellent combination is the use of cyborgs, on which you can equip your first components to give them additional stats (30 damage and 300 HP). With Leona, Fiora et Lucian, you can also use early game items (bramble armor on the fact Leona, Echo of Luden on the fact Lucian) to make a winning streak. Add a second Initiator (Mordekaiser for example) and a second Atomizer (Graves) will work just fine at level 5.

Another option is to use two Master of Blades (xayahYasuoMaster Yi ou Shen) instead of Graves et Mordekaiser.

Another combination that works well is the use of Rebels : malphite, Yasuo et Master Yi, with a third Master of Blades and ziggs. The latter is a good early game unit that can use your mana items or magic power, while Yasuo ou Master Yi will use your physical DPS items perfectly.

Don't forget to position your Rebels next to each other to benefit from the shield and bonus damage.

Finally, a last option that you can use in more final compositions is the use of 4 Initiators, which are very similar to 4 Defenders of Set 2 or 4 Knights of Set 1. They will have the advantage of offering a very good frontline for the sequel, and also allow you to use Jayce in carry, with a second Pirate spatial (Darius ou Graves) to generate additional gold. It works best with magical power items, a little like Aatrox in the past but more tanky.

Later you can replace poppy by Wukong which is the best tank in the game currently.

The best transition units of Set 3

Often you will needa champion to carry your objects which will then go to a 4 or 5 PO carry. This kind of champion is usually called  « Transition unit " Ezreal, Azir ou Qiyana were the best examples of this in Set 2.

In Set 3 there are also several interesting ones. For your magical power items (Rabadon's Headdress, Precious Gauntlet, morellonomicon, Seraph's Embrace...), we recommend using Ahri ou Jayce. The former only costs 2 gold and deals good raw damage with her ultimate which she uses very regularly, while the latter has excellent area damage while being quite tanky thanks to her class Initiator. These items will later go to champions like Miss Fortune, Gangplank ou Aurelion Sol for example.

At the level of physical damage items (Infinity blade, hand of justice, Thirst for blood, Doom Blade, Guinsoo's Raging Blade...), your two best options will usually be Lucian et Yasuo. The first benefits from good damage, especially with a second Atomizer and cyborgsYasuo is very similar to his version of Set 2: he is particularly effective in the middle game with objects and two others Master of Blades. Your objects of this type will generally be given to irelia, Jinx, Jhin or even Echo Thereafter.

Finally, if you have tank objects (Guardian angel, frozen heart, Warmog, bramble armordragon claw...), you can use a champion like neeko for example. Thanks to her ultimate's area stun, she'll work pretty well in the mid-game (with another Protective as Rakan ou Xin Zhao for example). If you opt instead for Initiators, consider equipping Mordekaiser, or malphite if you use Brawlers. These items will usually go to champions like Cho'Gath, Wukong ou Thresh at the end of the game.

The importance of winning streaks

If you manage to obtain one of the combinations mentioned above, you should be able to achieve a winning streak at the start of the game, especially if you have a few units at level 2. It will then be very important to do your best to maintain this series. The economy was greatly reduced in the first phase, but it is now possible to obtain the maximum bonus series (+3 PO) from 6 consecutive wins (instead of 7 before).

With this in mind, do not hesitate to combine your components quickly into effective objects: bramble armor, Zephyr, Iron Solari Medallion, Echo of Luden, Doom Blade... It is also interesting to level up fast :

  • Level 4 in round 2-1;
  • Level 5 in 2-2 or 2-4;
  • Level 6 in 3-2.

You'll be able to use the gold generated from your win streak to keep your savings ahead of your opponents while leveling up earlier than them, ensuring you can safely save up. 8 level indeed 9 without the need to roll in an emergency.

Best options in the Neekoverse Galaxy

The new mechanic of Set 3 is the presence of galaxies : You will sometimes be sent to an alternate galaxy with unique rules. At the moment there are three, among which the classic and Neekoverse. In the latter, all players start with two Neeko's Helping Hands (which transform into the champion of your choice when you use it on them). Some compositions will then become much more interesting.

In this situation, the most effective strategy will be to save big based on an early/mid game combination, and try to pass level 8 as quickly as possible (ideally in 4-3 or 4-5 round) to unlock a legendary champion on which to use your two Neekos for the pass level 2. There are two particularly dominant comps that utilize these legendary champions.

The first is the composition Rebelle with Aurelion Sol in carry, which works a bit like singed from Set 2 but even more powerful. You will then have to try to obtain defensive and magic power items (Guardian angel, Pistolame Hextech, Rabadon's Headdress...), and your second carry can be chosen Jinx with a sacred clothe Atomizer ou Master Yi with a third Master of Blades.

It is also possible to play only with 3 Rebels to play more frontline (Brawlers, Initiators...) or on the contrary more carries (like 4 atomizers).

Another very effective composition is the combination of 6 Wizards and a legendary champion. The Wizards will be quite effective in the middle game, especially when you have 6 of them, but you will need defensive items to compensate for your lack of frontline (Iron Solari Medallion, Guardian angel). The best legendary champion to use will be Miss Fortune, followed by Aurelion Sol et Gangplank equally, and Echo as a last option.

It may be interesting to use Vel'Koz in carry until you find your legendary.

Top Picks in Galaxy of Champions Tier 4

Another Galaxy that you will cross regularly will be the one in which all champions in the first carousel cost 4 gold. It could then be very interesting to use them in carry from the start of the game, some being particularly powerful.

Arguably the two best take to guide your composition and use them in carry are Jhin et irelia. The first is very strong from the start of the game, especially with Caitlyn for the bonus Sniper. He will generally direct you towards a composition Chrononaute in order to benefit enormously from the attack speed to boost its damage.

To irelia, it will allow you to start with a combination of cyborgs and Master of Blades pretty early in the game, and is also a great unit very quickly. The best composition with her will undoubtedly be 6 Cyborgs, but it is also possible to rotate to 6 Master of Blades instead if you can't find Echo.

Finally, a last interesting option is Fizz. If he is very weak individually, he will allow you to leave quickly on 3 Mecha Pilots with Annie et Rumble. super lock is extremely strong, especially with objects (especially Warmog who takes great care of him, and Guardian angel). You can also go to 4 Infiltrators with shaco and carry.

Last but not least, Wukong et Cho'Gath will simply be good frontline units that you can keep with respectively Initiators and Brawlers. The other units (Vel'Koz, Soraka, Kayle) are generally not interesting enough to base your composition around, and it will be more interesting to sell to boost your economy.
