The composition Warlord (Warlord) with Katarina and Tryndamere
This composition really only needs one elected war master to be played, which makes it very flexible. It's usually Katarina which acts as a main carry thanks to its excellent area damage, while Tryndamere is an interesting secondary carry.
One advantage of this comp is that it is very potent in the early/mid game, and can then lead to very potent late game combos by adding legendary champions such as Samira ou Read without.
The best Chosen (Chosen) champions
Any Ascended Warlord: You absolutely need a Chosen Warmaster for this composition to work. Obviously the best choices are Katarina ou Tryndamere because they are carries, but any other champion will do.

This composition is quite flexible and can be played in a lot of situations, however we recommend meeting one of the following conditions before considering it.
- You have an elected Warmaster : Obviously, you need one of these chosen ones to consider playing this composition.
- Got Katarina Item Debuts : Katarina is your primary carry and she relies on very specific items to function.
Top 1 Conditions
You will usually need a condition to win the game.
- Katarina 3 stars : Being your main carry, having 3 stars will be a real victory condition, especially if it's your chosen one.
- Level 9 with legendary champions : Another option is to go directly to level 9 to add a lot of powerful champions, even if it means playing only 3 Warmasters.

Early game (Stage 2)
Levels 3/4 (Round 2-1 or 2-2)
It's worth leveling up aggressively with this comp to be on a win streak. This is because you don't necessarily depend on the most contested components (so you don't need carousel priority) and your masters of wars gain bonus stats by winning rounds.
To do this, try to combine objects quickly if you can and level up 4 since the round 2-1 ou 2-2.
Level 5 (Round 2-5)
Since you want to quickly get 3 gold champions, it might be worthbuy more XP in round 2-3 for " pre-level » 5. Pre-level means that you will go to level 5 at the start of the next round, and that you will therefore have a level 5 shop, increasing your chances of having champions there at 2 and 3 gold.

Buy experience to be at 8/10 XP (for example), and thus level up in the next round.
With a bit of luck you can play 6 Warlords with your chosen one from level 5. Otherwise, try to enter additional synergies (Sentinelle, Initiator, brawler, Tireur d'izard...). If you only play 3 Warlords because you don't have all 6, still put all those you have on the board during the PVE round: victories against monsters count towards the Battlemasters stat bonus.
Midgame (Stages 3 and 4)
Level 6 (Round 3-2)
You should almost always pass level 6 in round 3-2 : the faster you level up, the more likely you are to find your important champions (Katarina, Tryndamere...). If you were in winning streak, and you have a good unit to add, you can level up by 3-1 to keep winning.
At 6th level, you should almost always have your 6 Warlords. You can then add Pyke to give the bonus Assassin à Katarina, or a Sentinelle (Kennan, Elise...) for the shield. If you don't have your 6 Warmasters or a chosen one yet, you can roll a little (avoiding going below 20 gold).
Level 7 (Round 4-1)
You should always pass level 7 at the start of Stage 4. This is an opportunity once again to add a synergy that you are missing (Sentinelle, Assassin, Initiator...), Where sivir. Not only can she pass hold the objects ofAzir, but its attack speed boost is also great for your team. If you have a Spatula, you should avoid roll and keep your savings for quickly pass level 8.
If your board is weak (lots of 1 star units), or you are low on HP, you can roll a little at least enough time to have most of your 2 star champions. Another option if you have a lot of copies of Katarina (5 or 6 at least) is slow roll at level 7 for the knowledge 3 stars.

Endgame (Stage 5+)
Level 8 (Round 5-1 or 4-5)
In the majority of cases, you will pass 8 level en round 5-1 to keep gold for roll. However, there are scenarios that may lead you to pass level 8 in round 4-5 and wait for the 5-1 for roll :
- You get a Spatula and you have already found one Azir au 7 level (or on the carousel), in which case you can switch to 9 Warlords as soon as possible,
- You were in winning streak and therefore you have an excellent economy.
Once level 8, if you haven't already Azir you should always at least roll until you find a copy. You will then generally have a choice to make:
- If you have many copies of Katarina : Try go up to 50 gold and slow roll to see her 3 stars. By the way, feel free to buy any other masters of war (especially Jarvan IV which is very powerful in 3 stars).
- If you are challenged on Katarina : or that you don't have many, prefer to pass level 9.
Level 9 (End of Stage 5 or beginning of Stage 6)
If you have already Katarina 3 stars, or you don't think you'll be able to get it because it's contested / you don't have enough copies, you can instead rush to 9 level. It will help you to have Azir and will allow you to have your other legendary champions (Samira, Read without...) easier.
Another interesting option if you have a lot of gold is toremove your weak Warlords to pass only 3, and thus enter more powerful endgame champions: Aatrox + Sejuani, Followers with I ne, or even Mystics if you need it for example.
Positioning Tips
One of the weak points of this composition is that its positioning can be quite vulnerable against AOE (Sejuani, Sept., Aurelion Sol...). If you are against a lot of players of this type, do not hesitate to further space your champions, even if it means taking less advantage of the bonus Sentinelle which is not so important in the late game.
If you're up against a champion like Aurelion Sol or against Assassins, Azir soldiers can go to the lower corners: they thus serve as bait for the spell of Aurelion Sol, and waste time for champions who jump into the backline. Otherwise, put them in the frontline so that they tank maximum damage.
Katarina should almost always be positioned towards the middle of the board : her spell inflicts area damage all around her, and she therefore has a better chance of hitting a maximum of targets by being towards the center than in a corner.
