The Teamfight Tactics Twilight Dweller/Fanatic build is one of the most popular in the game thanks to Riven becoming a formidable unit with these traits to assist her.

Dusk Dusk and Cultist Cultist Comp
When in doubt, always rely on this image for the objects rather than those in the "Procedure" section.
This composition is above all centered around Riven which is its centerpiece: with the magical power of Twilight Beings, she becomes both extremely tanky and inflicts heavy area damage with her spell. At the same time, this composition generally plays Jhin in secondary carry to deal physical damage.
This composition has the advantage of being potentially the most flexible in the game, being able to obtain many synergies (Sentinelle, Fanatic, Mystique...) depending on the state of the game and the chosen one.
The best Chosen (Chosen) champions
Riven Chosen Twilight Beast: Of the various Chosen Twilight Beasts you want to have, Riven is obviously the best since it's your main carry.
Vayne, Thresh, or Cassiopeia Chosen Twilight Beast : In the absence of Riven, another Chosen Twilight Beast is always welcome, especially Cassiopeia.
Riven Chosen Sentinel: Another possible option is to play with an elected Sentinel (Keeper) to play 4 of them.
When to Play Comp and Victory Conditions
When to play the comp
Try to meet at least one of these conditions before considering this composition.
- You have defensive components : Riven needs defensive items to be effective, and it is better if you already have Chainmail or Negatron Cloaks to play this composition.
- You are not more than 2 players to play it : The less you will be challenged, the higher your chances of victory are: if you are alone on this composition, it can ensure you a top 1.
Top 1 Conditions
You will usually need one of these conditions to win the game.
- Riven 3 stars : If you are not contested on this composition, you can try to have Riven 3 which becomes a real victory condition.
- Level 9 with 2-Star Legendary Champions : At the end of the game, the addition of legendary champions (Azir, Zilean, Lillia, Kayn...) significantly increases your chances of victory.
Preferred items

Riven can use a plethora of different items. When you play 6 Twilight Beings, always favor 3 defensive objects. If you only play 4 or 2 Twilight Dwellers, then she can use 1 or 2 offensive items.
dragon claw : With a lot of magic damage in the meta, this item is always good to make your Riven very tanky. bramble armor : This item prevents Riven from being too vulnerable to physical DPS, especially Jhin or Ashe. It also allows him to avoid spell crits with the Precious Gauntlet. Will of the Titan : Since Riven survives a long time in fights, she can often have all the stacks of Titan's Will at the end of the fight, making her very powerful.
Other options : Defensively, Riven can use other items: Solar Cape against care, Mercury against controls, Guardian angel against the burst... Offensively, she can use a Buff blue, the Rabadon's Headdress or to Ion Spark. |

Jhin uses your physical damage items, and is pretty flexible on the choice. Generally he wishes to have 2 offensive objects and 1 defensive object.
Infinity blade : Since he has a lot of base attack damage, Jhin benefits immensely from Infinity Edge. Mercury : The Mercury saves Jhin from being controlled, allowing him to DPS freely. Depending on your lobby, a Gripper trap or a Guardian angel will be more interesting. giant slayer : Your second defensive item usually depends on the lobby. Giantslayer is very strong against Brawlers, Warmasters and 3-star champions that have more than 1750 HP.
Other options : If there is a lot of armor in your lobby, the Last breath is almost necessary on Jhin. Another effective damage combination is Ouragan de Runaan with Doom Blade. Jhin can also use a Thirst for blood against Assassins, or a Twilight Aspect if you have a Spatula. |

Cassiopeia can be interesting to equip third with your remaining components.
Chalice of Power : The magic power boost is always useful on Cassiopeia and Riven in particular. Echo of Luden : In addition to the additional mana which allows, with the Chalice, to cast its spell in only 3 AA, the Echo of Luden inflicts good additional damage on targets controlled by Cassiopeia's spell.
Other options : If you want your Cassiopeia to do really heavy damage, it can also equip items like Precious Gauntlet, Rabadon's Headdress ou hand of justice. Finally, she can use utility or defensive items, such as the Iron Solari Medallion, Portail de Zz'Rot, Ion Spark, Gripper trap... |
What to do with a Spatula?
Aspect of the Twilight Deer ( + ): By far the best item to make with a Spatula, it allows you to play 6 Twilight Beings without Chosen, or to part with one of your weakest champions. This item usually goes on Jhin.
Otherwise, the Force of nature is always a good option.
Other Interesting Items
Ion Spark : If you are against a lot of magic resistance (Mystic, Sylvester...), this item is very relevant to have. You can equip it on Aatrox, Riven ou Cassiopeia for example.
blue buff ou Lance de Shojin : Your Zilean will be much more powerful in the late game with mana generation items.
Course of the game
First carousel
If you want to force this composition, you should generally aim for a chainmail for Riven and for making good early game items.
Early game (Stage 2)
Levels 3/4 (Round 2-1 or 2-2)
With this comp, you should be aiming for an early game winning streak. The start Fanatic (cultist) is therefore one of the best you can have, especially if you find a Chosen Fanatic (Elise if possible) quickly.
Since your composition relies heavily on the win streak and champions at 4 gold, it is almost always interesting to pass level 4 in round 2-1 or 2-2.
Level 5 (Round 2-5)
Since you want to quickly get champions at 3 and 4 range, it may be worthbuy more XP in round 2-3 for " pre-level » 5. Pre-leveling means that you will go to level 5 at the start of the next round, and you will therefore have a level 5 shop, increasing your chances of having champions there at 2, 3 and 4 gold.
If you were lucky enough to have a Chosen Fanatic, you can already switch to 6 Fanatics at level 5: this is extremely strong and will allow you to have a winning streak throughout stage 2 and probably stage 3 as well.
Midgame (Stages 3 and 4)
Level 6 (Round 3-2)
You should almost always pass level 6 in round 3-2. This usually allows you to add a Sentinelle (Keeper) whether Jarvan IV, Kennan, or ideally already Riven if you managed to get your hands on it.
If you had a good chosen one (Elise Fanatic for example), don't roll and rebuild your economy by playing your strongest board at this stage. You should be on a winning streak in Stage 3 with this kind of build.
If, on the contrary, you did not have an excellent Chosen or you take a lot of damage, you can sell your Chosen and roll up to 20 gold max, in order to find a chosen one at 3 gold to bring you up to level 8. This can for example be Kennan, Kindred, Evelynn / Fanatical Kalista, yummi...
Level 7 (Round 4-1)
When you pass 7 level au start of stage 4, you will have a decision to make: if your 6 Fanatics are still powerful and you think you can continue on a winning streak without having to roll, save your economy for pass level 8 in round 4-5.
Most of the time, your opponents will roll at level 7 and you risk taking a lot of damage if you don't start your transition at this time. In this case, roll to level 7 to find your Twilight Beings and stabilize your composition. If you directly have a chosen one, you can play 4 of them. Otherwise, you can play 4 Sentinels for example up to level 8.
Avoid rolling below 20 range, unless you are extremely low in HP or weak. As long as you have at least one Riven and Jhin with a few 2 star units you should stop rolling.
Endgame (Stage 5+)
Level 8 (Round 5-1)
Once you pass level 8 at the start of Stage 5, you should roll all your gold until you have at least most of your 2 star champions (except your legendaries) and above all a elected powerful at 4 gold : Riven ou Cassiopeia Twilight Dweller are the best, but Riven Sentinel ou Jhin Fanatic are also to consider. You will be able to play several different versions of the composition depending on whether you have a elected twilight being or not.
If you don't have a chosen Twilight Beast, or if you have one and you have a Twilight Aspect, you can play this version with Azir for example.
Another option with a chosen Sentinel (ideally Riven) is to play 4 and 4 Twilight Beings.
At the end of the game, you should decide between two options: if you are the only one playing Riven in your composition, you should boost your economy to 50 gold et slow roll at level 8 : the goal is to get Riven 3 stars, which will be your victory condition. When you are only missing a few copies, do not hesitate to roll more gold to find it.

If you're challenged on Riven, try bumping up your economy in anticipation of Tier 9 instead to add Legendary Champions.
Level 9 (Early or middle of Stage 6)
In the late game, adding legendary champions and getting them to 2 stars should be your priority. If you pass level 9 during stage 6, you can add champions such as Azir, I ne, Kayn or even Ezreal ou Read without for example. All legendary 2 stars are good to take.
Positioning Tips
The most important positioning to watch in this composition is that of Cassiopeia : you can indent it against Assassins to Shadows, but otherwise it should be frontlined. Try to put it in a place where it will stun as many targets as possible with its spell, so you must scout the opposing boards regularly.
Depending on the lobbies that cause you problems, consider 2 types of positioning: against Assassins and Shadows, try to have your units packed in a corner to protect your Jhin.
On the contrary, if you face area damage (Morgana, Ahri), try to further separate your units, putting Thresh et Vayne on the other side of your carries for example to bait AOEs.
