How component drops work in PVE rounds
According to Riot Mortdog, each player starts the game with a " bag of objects » which contains each component in duplicate. During PVE rounds, the components you will collect are taken directly from this bag. It is therefore not possible to have the same component more than twice during the first three rounds.
The components obtained via the space pirates and Carousels do not come from these bags. In addition, after each Carousel, a new copy of each component is added to the bag. You can use this information to determine which components are least likely to be found. Let's take a specific example:
You start the game with all of these components in your bag.
x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 |
After the first PVE rounds, you got 2 Chopsticks too big et 1 tear of the goddess. Your bag now looks like this:
x2 | x2 | x0 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x1 | x2 |
After the Carousel, you gain 1 more copy for each component in your bag:
x3 | x3 | x1 | x3 | x3 | x3 | x3 | x2 | x3 |
In this example, let's say you want to make a Rabadon's Headdress ( + ), a morellonomicon ( + ) and an Seraph's Embrace ( + ). It will be more interesting to take priority during the Carrousel:
- A Wand too big since it is the component that you will have the least chance of obtaining in a PVE round.
- A tear of the goddess whose drop probabilities are also slightly lower than the others.
- La Giant's Belt is the lowest priority to take, since it has the best chance of falling.
While it may be difficult to remember each component obtained during a game, it is easy to remember the following rule: the more you have obtained the same component during a PVE round, the less likely you are to have the same during the next ones.
Remove a component from a champion without selling it
Recently, Riot Games changed the priority order of items that remain equipped to a champion when they level up and have more than 3 items or components equipped in total. The items that will remain on the champion will be in order of priority:
- The champion's Thieving Gloves on the board;
- The champion's full items on the board;
- The Champion's Thieving Gloves on the bench;
- The complete items of the champion on the bench;
- The components.
It is therefore possible to use this system to get rid of an unnecessary component on a champion you want to keep, without having to sell it. Riot Mortdog showed how it works in a short video.
In the first example, Mortdog has a Jhin level 1 with a Tear of the Goddess which he wants to get rid of. What he does then is equip two full items on that Jhin, then a third item on a second copy of Jhin from his bench. Thus, when he buys the third copy to pass his Jin level 2 tear of the goddess jumps in favor of his Guardian angel neighborhoods, are the Last breath and his Ouragan de Runaan.
As a reminder, if you want make a whole new item on a champion who is already equipped with a component, You can buy a random champion in your shop for combine your two components on it before sell it and get the full object.
