Three months after a first conclusive test, the Arena mode is back for a few days in test, in an improved version. PUBG developers are constantly implementing new things and sometimes ask players' opinions before adding certain features or modes permanently. It is in this sense that PUBG Labs was born some time ago, to test these various new features. In September, players were able to try out an Arena mode, which offered drastically different gameplay.
If you hadn't played it, know that 64 players found themselves on a map, in teams of three, and had to compete in very specific areas, with three lives per team. Winning a battle grants bonuses and, between each battle, players can take advantage of a shop to improve their equipment. At the time, the experience was offered in FPP (first person). Until January 18 (25 for console players), the mode is back by being playable only in the third person (TPP). Other improvements are also being made, based on player feedback. We list the most important ones below.
The P1911 is replaced by default by the P18C.
The price of the helmet is increased.
From round 4, purchased weapons will include mods.
The points given for an elimination are revised with the fuck (150 → 100).
Losing a round gives you a small bonus.
Based on the feedback from this second test, the Arena mode could make its permanent arrival in PUBG, in order to bring even more diversity in the possibilities of play, after battle royale mode and team deathmatch. As a reminder, the 10.2 update has just been released on PC and adds, among other things, a new vehicle and a reputation system. You can find all the details here.
