The PUBG test servers return, along with two new weapons!

After giving players the opportunity to test the new features brought by PUBG update 1.0 last week for a few hours, the Bluehole developers will repeat their experience for a few days. During this new testing phase, players will be able to try out the jumping and climbing functionality again and test the two weapons added in this patch. Many changes have been made to the game mechanics to make them a bit more balanced.

  • First person and third person single player for European, North American and Asian servers.

Optimization

  • Optimized character animations.
  • Added additional LODs to optimize weapon rendering at long ranges.
  • Optimized various world effects.
  • Optimized various UI elements.
  • Optimization of the sea by reducing the effects of waves.
  • Decreased terrain loading time.
  • Decreased character memory usage.

Animation

  • Added an additional jump animation for objects with a height of around 60 centimeters or less.
  • Big reduction in clipping issue for jackets and coats when shouldering weapon (ADS) while leaning.

Gameplay

  • Reduced damage dealt to hands and feet and increased damage dealt to thighs and arms.
  • Bandage healing time reduced from 8,5 seconds to 4,5 seconds. The cast time and amount of health restored will be the same as before.

  • Players can now parachute and land in certain areas that were previously inaccessible, including the outskirts of the island.
  • Added calibration markings to the reticle of the x15 scope.
  • Added a new x4 reticle for 7.62mm weapons.
  • Added a new x4 reticle for snipers and SMGs.
  • Added a blur effect outside of sights.
  • Bullets now penetrate water based on the speed of the projectile (the higher the speed, the lower the penetration).
  • Lowered camera position when prone in third person.
  • SKS and Mini-14 firing speed decreased.
  • Increased sprint speed while holding a sniper rifle (same speed as assault rifles).
  • Decreased Mk14 recoil.
  • The x8 and x15 scopes can no longer be equipped on the M16A.

  • Added 2 new weapons
    • Added DP-28. The DP-28 will be available worldwide. The Degtiarev DP 28 is a Soviet infantry machine gun that can hold up to 47 7.62 mm caliber bullets. Sights and scope x4 can be equipped. Its rate of fire will be low but its range and damage will be high.
    • Added AUG A3. The AUG A3 can be obtained in the packages. It is a variant of the Steyr AUG (Armee Universal Gewehr) which is an Austrian 5,56 mm caliber bullpup type assault rifle. Its rate of fire and muzzle velocity will be high while its vertical recoil will be low. 
  • The Kar98k can no longer be found in packages. However, its spawn rate in the world will remain the same.

User interface and experience

The PUBG test servers return, along with two new weapons!

  • Added a new font for English.
  • Improved design of in-game HUD, options window, inventory, menu and system messages.
  • Improved Solo and Squad UI
    • The health bars of your team members have been moved from the top left corner to the bottom left corner.
    • Changed colors and indications on the minimap, world map, and squad member list.
    • Added indicators to check the status of team members (vehicle, parachute, alive/dead, connected, etc...).
  • Improved HUD interaction
    • If there is no more space in your backpack, the font will change to red to indicate to you that the object cannot be picked up.
  • Improved minimap and world map  
    • Decreased minimap saturation to emphasize party member information.
    • Adjusted world map colors to increase visibility of markers and information.
    • Players can check the direction their teammates are looking through the world map and minimap.
    • When members of the same team are in the same vehicle, a unique indicator will appear.
  • The killfeed has been moved from the lower left corner to the upper right corner.
  • The life bar has been changed and will no longer turn red when the player's life is below 75%.
  • Added killcam functionality which can be found in the settings. Players will now be able to see the killcam on the final results screen.
    • For Duo and Squad modes, the killcam will only be available when all players on the team are dead.

Shipping is

  • Lobby music has been changed.
  • Improved vehicle engine sound.
  • Added a sound that will play at the edge of the blue area.
  • Added three different sounds for the red zone.
    • Sounds of bombs being dropped.
    • Sounds of falling bombs.
    • Sounds of bombs exploding.
  • Added sounds when the character jumps into water. The sound will be different depending on the player's falling speed.

Language

  • Added four new languages: Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Mexico) and Chinese (Traditional).

corrections

  • Fixed the camera for the rear passenger of a motorcycle equipped with a sidecar.
  • Fixed an issue where animations were not playing correctly when using multiple bandages in succession.
  • Removed the pink circle that could appear on some buildings when parachuting.
  • Fixed the issue where it was possible to shoot while jumping over an item.
