PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS' much-loved new map, called Sanhok, has now been available for a few days on the experimental servers. The originally planned schedule allowed players to test the map for three days, but the developers seem to have decided otherwise and extended the testing phases. Indeed, the most recent tests on Sanhok revealed some interesting performance issues which the development team will continue to work on. These issues appear to be related to unnecessary packet transfers from the client to the server, thereby causing server overhead and performance drops.
You should know that at present, the distance to which the players are made is within a radius of one kilometer from your position. Since Sanhok is four times smaller than its elders, namely Erangel and Miramar, the number of players present in this area is generally much higher.
Performance issues experienced by some users stem from this, with server FPS being reduced, leading to player teleports early in the game. According to internal data, the kill rate at very long range is quite low, the luxuriant vegetation being certainly not foreign to it. This is the reason why the developers have taken the initiative to reduce character render distance specifically on Sanhok, which should, without a doubt, lead to a performance improvement.
All of these changes will roll out with the arrival of the next update, the developers will make an announcement once a date is set. In order to make the experience on Sanhok as pleasant as possible when the map is available on live servers, PUBG Corp. decided to extend the test duration on the experimental servers.
